Shot Notes

From my “Journeys” series – Journeys: Qurban in Yunnan.

Not many of us here know that there are many Muslims in China. In fact, Islam spread to China first before it was brought to South East Asia by the Arab traders.

Yunnan – this was where the great Admiral Zheng He came from. He was a Muslim. Not many of us here know that.

This was my second trip to China, and my first with my wife. We decided to take this trip – a Qurban trip – to observe and experience how Muslims in China commemorate and celebrate Eid-ul-Adha. It was an eye opener for us.

I hope to experience this again.
